Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) Stretching
We use PNF Stretching to take your Flexibility to the next level, which will improve your physical health. What is PNF Stretching?
It is a more advanced form of flexibility training that involves both the stretching and contraction of the muscle group being targeted.
This form of stretching was originally developed as a form of rehabilitation, and to that effect it is very effective. It is also excellent for targeting specific muscle groups, and as well as increasing flexibility, (and range of movement) it also improves muscular strength.

- Benefits of exercise
- Individuals with chronic disease are commonly challenged by reduced functional capacity.
- An inactive lifestyle can exacerbate disease specific symptoms and advance progression of disease processes, causing many individuals to experience secondary complications such as:
- muscle atrophy
- bone loss
- fatigue,
- weakness and frailty
- Which can lead to continued functional decline and potential loss of independence (Ehrman, 2010, p. 742-743).
